The tech tycoon Elon Musk has claimed that Meta Platforms Inc. (NASDAQ:META) “falsely” claimed credit for sales that came from his platform X, which was formerly known as Twitter.
What Happened: Musk made the allegations in a post on Friday after advertisers filed a $7 billion lawsuit against Meta’s Facebook and Instagram.

Meta Platforms is currently dealing with legal issues. Advertisers claim the company inflated ad viewership on its platform, and they have filed a $7 billion lawsuit against it.
Although Musk and Mark Zuckerberg have been exchanging barbs for some time, this is the most recent of Musk’s attacks on the co-founder of Meta Platforms.
The rivalry became more intense in 2022 after Musk purchased X. Since then, Musk has made multiple posts claiming that X, particularly Instagram, has higher engagement than Zuckerberg’s social media accounts.
